Dr. Atkins' theory is based on the fact that a low carbohydrate, high protein diet will switch your body into a fat burning machine. You'll notice a decrease in belly fat within a few days after sticking to this diet.

3. Make sure eat less than 30 carbohydrates a day to lose belly fat fast. Most of the carbohydrates should come from green vegetables. Eat more protein with high contents of omega-3s like fish, and reduce belly fat even faster while improving your health. There are very few carbohydrates in meat and fish.

4. Eat small meals throughout the day. Instead of having two or three large meals, eat five or more small meals. Eating small meals will help keep insulin levels stable and reduce belly fat. Each small meal should include protein and vegetables.
