Exercise has many benefits.
It can help with your weight loss goals, increase your energy, and help you ward off health problems, such as heart disease and depression.
Experts recommend a minimum of 150 minutes of physical activity a week, so finding ways to sneak more exercise into your daily routine is a must. You will experience all of the expected benefits if you do, and that will encourage you to exercise more.
Here are some suggestions we hope you find useful.
#1: Add exercise to your morning routine
Wake up a little earlier each day and go for a short jog or a run. Alternatively, exercise at home, especially on those days when the weather is miserable outside. Try some gentle stretches, run on the spot, and try some of these home workout moves.
#2: Exercise on the way to work
Do you need to take the car to work? If you aren't traveling far, consider walking or cycling instead. And if you're taking the bus or the train, get off one stop earlier and exercise the rest of the way. You will feel better for it, and your increased energy levels should increase your productivity at work.
#3: Try deskercise
If you have an active job, this won't apply to you, as you should already have opportunities to keep fit. But if you're rooted at a desk for much of the day, try these deskercise activities to get your body moving. Admittedly, your boss might want to know what you're doing, but by explaining the benefits, you might be able to get him or her to join in too!
#4: Do something active during your lunch hour
Instead of spending your lunch hour in the office, do something else with your time. Go for a walk outside, visit your workplace gym, or play active games with your work colleagues. Anything is better than simply putting your feet up during your break time, as you will re-invigorate yourself for your afternoon work schedule.
#5: Visit your local gym
Instead of heading home after work, stop off at your local gym. Many places, Fitness 19 included, have a range of activities on offer, so lift a few weights, join a fitness class, or work out on one of the available exercise machines.
#6: Play games with the kids
If you have kids at home, do something with them after you have finished work for the day. Go to the park with them and play active games such as tag or frisbee, or play active video games with your kids if they are prone to screen time after school. Don't have kids? Well, if you have a partner or friends living nearby, play indoor or outdoor games with them instead.
#7: Exercise around the house
Housework is a great way to get more exercise into your life, so vacuum the floors, scrub the tiles, and polish the ornaments. Get outside too, and mow the lawn or wash your car, as both of these activities will get your body moving.
There are all kinds of ways to sneak more exercise into your daily routine, so follow our examples and look for more ideas online. Especially when you excuse yourself from exercise because 'you don't have the time,' you will discover that it is possible to stay fit, despite your busyness.
