A beautiful summer day in nature can be destroyed if you constantly have to swing your hands and scratch due to their bites. Moreover, the can transmit infectious diseases such as the West Nile Virus. However, we all get bitten by mosquitoes sometimes. If you are certain that your blood is tastier than others’ skin, hold on to these rules so that you are less prone to mosquitoes.
Choose repellents without chemicals
It is the easiest way to defend yourselves, but do you really want to spray your body with strong chemicals during the two months when the mosquitoes are active? Alternatives are safer for the health, such as the lemon eucalyptus oil-their biggest enemy.
Stay at home during the night period when the mosquitoes bite hardest
They are mostly active in the dusk and dawn, i.e. during the night when there is a higher humidity and lower temperatures.
Get rid of stale water
The mosquitoes mostly multiply in these waters so clean the pools, the puddles from rain, etc. Take care when you are close to a lake or ponds.
Wear white since darker colors attract them more
The mosquitoes are attracted by darker colors, black and dark blue since, besides smell, they also use colors to locate their targets. So, it is good to dress in lighter colors, white or pastels, in order to lower the risk.
Reconsider your perfume
It is surely nice to smell good as a rose, but it can cost you a lot of mosquitoes’ bites. They love flower nectar as much as they like people, so keep away from flower perfumes for the summer, or exclude perfumes entirely.
Avoid beer
The mosquitoes are attracted more to those who drink beer rather than water. It has not been confirmed that they bite harder the ones who drink other types of alcohol, but to be on the safe side, drink water.
