Here are some ways that you can make changes to your everyday life for the betterment of yourself.


Meat Intake

We are all constantly being told these days how we should cut back on the amount of meat. That isn’t to say you have to go full vegan, but you could consider introducing meat-free Mondays. This popular alternative meal plan for a Monday is becoming something of a norm in many places around the world as people turn to non-meat substitutes or vegetarian dishes. The reduction of meat in your diet is said to lead to weight-loss, heart health and provides some variety for your diet - maybe you’ll get some different nutrients in you than you normally would.


Alcohol

Similar popular trends have taken over the alcohol world in recent years such as Dry January and Stoptober. These are months dedicated to cutting back on how much alcohol you drink, almost like a detox. The benefits can be fantastic for anyone who enjoys a drink, so long as it is done in the right way. Once again weight loss is a positive side-effect of stopping the flow of alcohol, and it generally can improve the health in your body.

However, it is important to add that this is not to trivialize the very important issue of addiction. Whether someone suffers from alcohol dependence or drug addiction, they should be given proper assistance. There are companies that provide help in the form of therapy and treatments like Suboxone to reduce the impact of cravings and withdrawal. Exercise

Take the initiative for yourself and get moving, the effects it will have on your mental and physical well-being will be worth the effort.

Doctors recommend that we should be doing at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise per week and including some kind of strength training on at least two of those days. These two types of workout can be meshed together by taking on exercise like yoga, for which some styles use training methods like calisthenics to improve strength conditioning as well as performing aerobic exercise. However, for those of you looking to push yourself, you should consider setting yourself a target. Look into half-marathons and fun runs that you can take part in and aim for that goal, you might just surprise yourself at what you can achieve.
