When getting dressed in the morning
became a constant struggle, Lisa Berliner knew she needed to make a
change. Over the last few years, she'd lost and gained 20 pounds
multiple times with Weight Watchers and fad diets. She'd push herself to
count carbs, points, and calories, and then, sick of feeling so
restricted, binge on high-calorie comfort foods, like pizza and
mac-and-cheese. Working full-time as a realtor and juggling two teenage
boys left her with little time to exercise. "As I approached my 40s, I
think my metabolism shut down and the weight just started to
accumulate," she says. "I hated how stressed I felt every time I stood
in front of my closet and tried to decide what to wear. But it wasn't
just a fashion thing. Now that I'm over 50, I really needed to start
being healthy."
[post_ads]Craving a sustainable program that would show her exactly how to lose
weight without losing her mind, Berliner decided to sign up for the Fit in 10: Slim & Strong—for Life! program after seeing a post for the program on Facebook. The fact that it required no more than 10 minutes of easy exercise a day and included a simple eating plan based on 10-minute clean meals appealed to the busy mom.
At first, Berliner was nervous about the Fit in 10 meal plan. Would she really like it? Would it really satisfy her? Would it feel like another diet? On
the first day, she took a trip to the grocery store and bought the
ingredients she needed for the 10-Day Clean-Eating Jump-Start (which you
can find in Prevention's new book, Fit in 10: Slim & Strong—for Life!).
"I felt a little intimidated, but once I got in the kitchen and started
to make the meals, I realized how simple and delicious everything was.
That's when I knew this program was going to be different from the ones
I'd tried in the past," she says.
And Berliner wasn't the only one who
enjoyed the Fit in 10 recipes. Her husband and kids loved them, too.
"As a mom, you don't want to be on a special type of diet where you have
to cook differently for your family," she says. "I loved that everyone
in my house could eat the same foods. Our favorite meal quickly became
the Hearty Lasagna. It was so delicious that my family started to
request it."

Berliner also found it easy to fit the 10-minute workouts into her
day. "Not only could I always find the time to do them, but the routines
often gave me the energy to keep moving the rest of the day," she says.
"I also loved the fact that the program was divided into different Tone
Zones, and how you mix-and-match the workouts over the course of a week
to make sure you're hitting everything."
By the end of the plan, Berliner was down 14 pounds, her clothes were
fitting much better, and she couldn't believe the change she saw in her
middle. "My body is very different today then it was 60 days ago," she
says. "For the first time in as long as I can remember, my stomach is
completely flat. And the rest of me feels stronger. I never would have
thought in such a short period of time that I'd feel such strength in my
upper body. The other day I carried my suitcase all the way up the
stairs and through Grand Central Station—I never would have been able to
do that if I hadn't started Fit in 10. It just makes me feel great."
