Because of the high summer temperatures we shower more frequently, swim, etc. so often times water clogs in our ears. Besides being unpleasant, it can also be dangerous. In order to solve this problem, we present you 7 ways in which you can remove the water from the ears. However, if neither of these solutions helps you, you have to consult a doctor.
1
Alcohol and vinegar drops
This combination will release the water flow from the ears and prevent an infection. The procedure is very simple. Fill one half of a little bottle with alcohol and the other one with vinegar and apply several drops from this mixture in both ears with a dropper. Lower down your head to remove the surplus liquid from the ears. The acid will penetrate the earwax and ease the process of removal, and the alcohol will help in the water evaporation. If you have a damaged eardrum, do not try this method.
2
Create a vacuum in the ear
Lower down the head on that side of the ear which is clogged; press it with your palm and then press inside-outside. In this way you will create a mild vacuum for water removal. The vacuum can be made with a finger as well. Lower down your head on one side, press with the finger and quickly pull it out. Repeat the process until you feel that the water has been removed. Also, massage the ear clockwise.3
Dry the water with warm air
Use a hair dryer. Set it on the lowest temperature and blow in a 30 cm distance from your ear. The warm air will stimulate evaporation of the water.4
Jump on one leg
Lower down your head on the side of your clogged ear, stand on one leg and jump. In the same time, pull the tragus since it can widen the ear canal. If you do not want to jump, put your head down and pull the tragus.5
Lie down and rely on gravity
Lie down on your stomach with the clogged ear downwards and stay for a few minutes in that position. The gravity will do its work i.e. the water will find its way out.6
Chew a gum or pretend to
The jawbone is near the ear so its movement can help you to solve this issue. Put something in your mouth to chew, use a chewing gum or simply improvise. In the same time, lower your head down on the side of the clogged ear and then sharply turn on the other side.7
